Always a step forward. That's the man he is, Kenta.

A devoted first born of twoβ€”granted with an ego of a skyrocket. Kenta lived his younger days penned with such joy and curiosity, always eager for more, always striving for the best. But such attitude must come with an equal prize: responsibility.

For as long as he can remember, Ken was always trying to fit himself into his father's shoes and see through his viewpoint. The idea of responsibility first came in form of a father. For a kid on the shy of age 5, nitpicky Ken envisaged what great power his father holds in the palm of his very hands. He was one of leading industrial man across Asia, his name mentioned in a string of mighty businessmen little Ken failed to acknowledge somewhere in a magazine. And so, the idea of responsibility Ken stood by initially was manufactured from the figure of a father.

But all is never well.

Tragedy never discriminates. It feeds on happiness. It makes you back shiver. Your bone aches. Head numbing. Ken was seven years old when he found out that his parents' marriage was falling apart. Where was the responsible man he looked up to all this while?

Denial. Ken was denial over the reality that there was another boy, just months younger than him, that he would've to call brother.

Even so, time flies. The world rolls on, whether you like it or not. In which for his part of story, that is the reality Ken can't get over with so quick. It was so abrupt, so out of the blue. But it happened, anyway. He spent the following year treating this boy as a stranger. This boy named Renji. This boy that took the summer of his life. He closed all the doors on everyone, and he never opened one since then. Strangely enough, he could not bring to loathe Renji. After all, part of the blood that runs through his veins is Renji's too.

Years go by, and life flashes in an instant second, little Ken is now 18. He turned tight, his laughter does not come so often now as it once before in his younger days. And yet, in all his newfound silence, Ken is still eager for more, striving for the best. In hasty decision he found something his wavering mind could resolute to; to start a new chapter in Goguryeo International High School. All this as a defense mechanism over denying the reality.

Much to his dismay, upon asking for his father's approval, he had instead instructed Renji to come along with himβ€”which he heavily disputed. "I don't understand why must Renji come along. I had explained myself earlier, father, I will be going alone. I came here to asked for your permission, not asking for a company."
"I heard you first time, Shiraishi Kenta. And I am not changing my mind."
"I told you, father. I will be go-"
"Enough is enough! The choices are: you go with Renji or you do not go at all!"

Ken could not wrap his mind on why must he go with Renji. He cannot see the account to whatever it is that grounds his father reasoning. He asked for a permission. To enter Goguryeo International High, where he thought he could redeem himself once more. So why must Renji come?

Still and all, Ken took his only shot. He settled in an answer that he was fine, to say the least with Renji coming with him. As long as their paths does not clutter one another. With that being said, his story in Goguryeo begins.
